4. A little Game

-At last what I was looking for : a deck of cards ! My friend I have plenty of games I must teach you, I'm sure you'll find this more amusing than learning the names of the months of the year ?

The card box Erik was holding seemed to have a rather classical look, but I suspect them to have regularized it to a metric format, either by the surface or by length and width : I'm starting to understand these dummies !

On the box of cards could be read : "50 U.R. cards - Alphabet Letters", he took the cards out of the box…

On their black backs : a silver airship and the inscription : "U.R. Air Navy"

On the faces : in the corners the symbols of color and value of the card, and in the center a letter of the alphabet with a drawing to hint its pronunciation : for instance the drawing of an S shaped snake, with written under it "Snake [S,s]".

The corners had the ancient symbols of the four elements and the moon. green : Earth, red : Fire, yellow : Air, blue : Water, black : Moon, and values, simply ranging from 1 to 10.

Erik taught me : a game of tricks : the Universal (a bit like hearts), a game of card laying : the Revolution (a bit like rami), and finally a game of hand values : the Republican (a bit like poker).
