King Louis XVI accepts the Constitution and empowers Lafayette as "Prime Secretary of State" according to the Congress' will (Parliement and Senat). |

The royal family escapes to the Austrian Netherlands, before Lafayette, which feels betrayed by the King. Lafayette declares the "Universal Republic" and the "Danger upon the Nation", Lafayette amends the Constitution in consequence (Replacement of the Royale function by a Presidential function, nationalization of the means of production for the effort of war, creation of national workshops, a citizen army , separation of the Church and the State, suspension of the death penalty...), he proclaims himself President until the end of the crisis. The Colonial Army in Acadia recognizes Lafayette its former General as head of State, the King Louis XVI is forced to remain in Europe.
