19. Classification
| I would like to present to you the Automata Classification ( anthropomorphic) invented by the Automatists Association, a pretty criticized lobby, wanting to give rights to the most sophisticated automata, because they do not regard them as simple objects. Ana-automata : According to the AA these are false automata, which stupidly mimic man in only one of his functions and in a very repetitive fashion. Most of the time these machines do not have very complex analytical engines. They are mainly cleaning tools, or entertainment equipement decorated with a heads or arms, their interface is often manual, even if they are sometimes equipped with a vocal output. False music players (phonogram), false chess player (external polygraph, or another player), random sweeper, egg beater... (better have legless versions of these machines if one does not want to finish with serious domestic problems). Pro-automata : Having an improved analytical engine, these automata are able to make some specialized tasks after vocal order, and with relative precision. However they differentiate neither the voices nor the faces, often answer by, "I fear this task exceeds my capabilities" to many orders. Typically the automaton charged to paint the fence in white, and which will paint also your automotive, if it is parked too close (though white automatives are not out of fashion yet). In some families Pro-automata are used as servents to open doors, bring plates, all of this without doing too many silly things. Eu-automata : They are all Government property, and seem to hide in their body a small man, being so smart and moving with such ease. However it is necessary to understand their ultra-logical mentality, to be able to speak with them without them asking confirmation after each ambiguous order (players uninterest by charisma can play this class of character). The technology that they use is so expensive that it is produced in small number even in UR, at the present time UR has 25 Eu-automata, including 5 participating in space exploration, the others are under cover agents, pretending they are Pro-automata. |
