36. Second Global War

"My dear fellow-citizens, at this very moment the UR has been pulled in a global conflict.

We have officialy declared war upon the Levant Empire. The later being tied to the Ottoman Empire with a mutual assistance pact. The Ottoman Empire has attecked the British-Russian Empire. Of course we cannot consider the BRE as a potential ally, it is only a matter of weeks before our true ennemi strikes us or one of our allies in America or Asia.

What is the cause of the war ?

The Levant Empire accuses the UR of pressure upon New Spain to sell its northern territory to us and not to them.

The absurdity of the accusation is that even though the Californian part of New Spain has a few asian dwellers, in no way NS would have sold it to the LE ! NS simply knows the benefits it has in selling land to us, a Republican ally, and above all that we intend to use this land for colonies for our Iberian language citizens.

In retaliation for their political and economic defeat the LE is trying to destroy our colonies in South-East Asia. Helped by the fact they have the larged under water fleet, one must admit they are prtty good in bringing chaos and disaster.

The OE couldn't stand any longer the high concentration of BRE troops in the Euro-Indian corridor, which ispreventing their influence from reaching the muslim states (Kazakstan, Turkmenistan, Ouzbekistan) and decided to invade the corridor.

The Moscou-Delhi railway (thru Volgograd and Samarkand), being the back bone of the BRE, the reaction was swift and double : reconquering the corridor, and invading the heart of the OE : Anatolia and the Near East (starting the Ultimate Crusade).

The blow of the confrontation of the two old tyranic states has resulted in the declaration of idependance of all the Ottoman provinces (while loyal troops flee back to fight for Anatolia) and of the baltic provinces for the BRE.

Time will tell if the nations born of the Second Global War will live thru the conflict. But at least it seems we have a few new allies in the Baltic, Balkanic and Trans Caucasic regions of the world."
