20. Danger on the Nation
| Urgent Constitutive Act of the Universal Republic by Lafayette
CITIZENS, the King has fled our homeland to join the "Tyrannical Nations", in that he has signed the treason of his person and the deposition of his post. I, Citizen Lafayette, being the highest elected representant of the people, in the executive, I declare the "Universal and Eternal Republic". As the North-American colonists, overcame tyranny in the New World, we will overcome it in the Old one. My first act of leadership is to declare "Danger on the Nation", and launch a call to patriotic citizens : fallow the conduct imposed for the Republic's survival. Against us Empires : cruel machines made to reduce to ashes "Freedom Loving People". We must find other means than their tyranny to be more powerful than them. To pursue this goal, I ask the citizens to adopt the patriotic attitude which will enable us to make the difference. FREEDOM : "the Freedom of Thought" is the first right, this is why any opinion remains in the individual's private sphere. It results from this a "Lay State" : religiously neutral state, in order not to oppress any form of worship or philosophy. "the Freedom of Property" is the right second, however this right must conform with the patriotic requirements of Equality and Fraternity which "Danger upon the Nation" requires to triumph over all tyrannies. EQUALITY : in front of the law, justice, right to be represented, in front of hunger, cold, housing, knowledge and information, care, protection, in front of the duty to work... all citizens are equal, independently from sex, ethnic group, geographical origin, language, confession, level of education, resources... FRATERNITY : In the respect of all human beings, the State decides to take on him the organization of all the necessary steps to ensure the rights and duties stated above, by keeping the principle that : "Happiness of All" cannot be reached simply by sacrificing "Some". |
