5. Work

In UR exists workers of two categories :

The co-workers which share work and therefore the benefits, by participating in the Government or in the three first Ministries (Educ, Secu, Prod). They are the employees of a system with high goals, therefore they are paid depending on how much successful effort they put in their task. Their working hours are variable, but the norm is a minimum of 250 days per year, each work day lasting at least 2,5 decidays (6h). Extra working days give an exponentially rising bonus on the pay check based on the year's work. In the same manner as on boats, most employees do watch hours, therefore, factories are frequently running night and day : thanks to a rota of 4 working groups. The average co-worker takes tow resting days per decaday (10 days).

The free-traders, they represent almost the totality of the forth Ministry (Ente). They work for themselves and their revenue depends exclusively on their capacities. They can do everything as long as they pay for patterns owned by the other Ministries, and fines if they trade minor illegal goods or services. (Note that a Government organized administration is part of the Entertainment Ministry, and gives the free-trading cards needed by the members of the forth Ministry.)

Retirement :

Retirement-pension : After 35 years of co-working, one can have 10 years of pension, the amount of the pension is the average salary of these 35 years (without counting the extra days). Since free-traders have no "salary", they can't benefit of this system.

Retirement-savings : As soon as a worker gets his first pay check he can open a retirement-savings account. The money in this account is blocked for 5 years, and can be then removed from the account or blocked for 5 more years. The interest rate on a retirement-savings account is higher than on a regular savings account. The retirement-savings account is open to all : either co-worker or free-trader.
