4. Urbanism

At the creation of the Capital of the UR, a revolution took place in the architectural domain. On the left a sketch drawn by Leonardo de Vinci of which most of the architects used as a model for theirs works.

The main street is a pedestrian alley where are allowed some bicyclists and horse riders going for a stroll. The main street has many little road that run thru it in zigzags, to enable people to stroll beneath the trees and the bushes, one can find on his way fountains and benches, all this make the main street look more as a park than as a classical high speed motorway. Note that a glass roof (omitted on the sketch), covers the hole street, but can be opened in certain areas.

Under the main street runs the metropolitan, which is almost always under ground. Its an electric tram which goes around the total surface of the city, and has many stations. Pedestrians can access the metropolitan by take the stairways under the arcades.

The arcades enable the shop keepers to lay out their merchandise, and the café's to have outdoor tables for their customers. Next to the arcades, of course, shops and cafés, and behind them, rooms where artisans work and where cooks prepare food, these rooms can also be used as stocking areas. Under the building the motorway, where mostly merchandise transporters drive their electric or horse pulled cars.

On the floor above the ground floor : apartments. In most cases about half of the people living in these apartments have their working place on the ground floor just beneath. In the attic mostly stocking areas and apprentice rooms. The top terrace is used to grow fruit trees and is covered, in the same way as the street, by a glass roof.
